Thus he is brought to Tokyo Jujutsu College to learn how to control and use his cursed energy, which was recently attained. The manga has gone through its chapters elegantly and consistently has its readers awaiting more. Maybe that is why the hiatus of the manga struck to many as a severe blow.
Luckily, manga Jujutsu Kaisen comes back in August, and here’s all we’re aware of.
It Goes on Hiatus
The 2018 serialization of Gege Akutami’s manga started (excluding the one-shot prequel). The manga went on without a break. On 9 June, however, a statement indicated that the manga is continuing on for some time. The cause for the gap in the manga was the declining health of Gege Akutami. After the announcement of the weekly Shonen Jump, published on 21 June 2021, this manga was on pause. Gege Akutami came to warn his readers not to worry about this at the time of the announcement. He didn’t feel nauseous, he claimed. He didn’t feel concerned because he was mentally fine, even if he was sick. He even excused for this delay, in addition.
According to rumors, since then, the personnel of Akutami had asked him to pause. Akutami encouraged that he continue because he wanted to finish it sooner. Fortunately, the mangaka took a break finally. Since then, the manga has been suspended for weeks following the week and the manga comeback till recently has not been announced. Mangakas are under constant pressure and they have common knowledge to feel weary. Breaks are required, especially if they are published every week in good condition and new work.
Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Returns
The Jujutsu Kaisen team finally took up the elephant in the room after a month long wait and released the specifics of the return of the manga. In the coming issue of the weekly Shonen Jump Magazine the Jujutsu Kaisen was formally announced on 16 July. The manga continues on the Jump+ App on 1 August, and the 35th edition of the magazine will be published on 2 August 2021. The new manga chapter will also be reopened on 1 August at Viz Media.
The reintroduction of the Manga certainly sends a disturbance down the fan base of Jujutsu Kaisen. The preview of the 2021 Summer Jump Giga shows Jujutsu Kaisen of Gege Akutami. On the cover is illustrated by the mangaka himself by Gojo Satoru.
To date, about 50 million copies are sold by Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Its sixteenth volume, dated 4 June 2021, sold only two million copies. It is slated for Jujutsu Kaisen vol 0 on 24 December 2021. Three new designs were published under the direction of Gege Akutami, developed by Maki Zenin, Panda and Inumaki Toge.
