Narcos Mexico Season 3: ‘Narcos: Mexico’ was created and co-produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro. Creators originally intended for ‘Narcos’ to be the fourth season, but ultimately opted to make it a spin-off series while keeping the same concept of illegal drug trading. It shifts from Colombia to Mexico in this modern-day crime drama, which takes viewers on a tour of the country’s vast drug trade. It is set in the 1980s and tells the narrative of the Guadalajara Cartel under the leadership of Miguel ngel Félix Gallardo.
Fans and critics alike have lauded the show since its premiere in November 2018. Its total commitment to realism was lauded by critics, as were Diego Luna’s and Michael Pea’s performances in the key characters. Your curiosity must be piqued after watching the second season’s startling conclusion. Inform you if that is the case!

After two seasons, Netflix decided to renew the series for a third season. The long-awaited news came on October 28, 2020, more than eight months after the season 2 debut. The show’s senior co-creator Carlo Bernard has taken up Eric Newman’s duties as showrunner, another huge change.
It was already in the works by the time the announcement was made, and the project was expected to last until 2021. “After 14 months of filming, we’ve finally completed,” the caption reads. Thank you to the entire cast and crew. Co-star Luis Gerardo Méndez announced to fans that filming on the series would complete on March 21, 2021, before changing the message to “Change of Mask.” Season 3 of ‘Narcos: Mexico’ will launch in early to mid-2022 assuming the creators stick to the show’s usual release schedule.
Narcos Mexico Season 3 Cast: Who is in it?
During the upcoming season, the cast will undergo some significant changes. Diego Luna, who plays Felix Gallardo, will not be repeating his role. DEA agent Walt Breslin will be played by Scoot McNairy, and “El Chapo” will be played by Alejandro Edda. In addition to Mayra Hermosillo and Manuel Masalva, Alfonso Dosal will play Benjamin, one of the Arellano Felix Brothers (Ramon). The third season will also have important appearances for José Mara Yázpik (Amado Carillo Fuentes) and Gorka LaSaosa (Héctor Palma).
Among the newcomers are Luis Gerardo Méndez (Victor Tapia, a cop who falls down the rabbit hole following a series of killings), Alberto Guerra (Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, a clever and independent drug dealer), and Luisa Rubino (Andrea Nuez, an ambitious journalist who investigates government corruption). Jose Ziga (General Rebollo) and Diego Calva (Arturo Beltran Leyva) will also appear in a variety of roles, as will Kristin Lee Gutowski (Dani) and Beau Mirchoff (Steve).
Plot: What is it About?
Throughout the second season, we watch as Felix’s goals and excessive spending spiral out of control. Finally, after a succession of questionable decisions, Felix is called into question as Héctor Palma’s wife passes away. We know that reality is significantly more harsh than fiction, therefore the makers of this story are beaten to the punch. A secure commercial corridor is created between Mexico and the United States, but not in the way Felix had anticipated.
Maria evicts Felix from his apartment. Felix relinquishes control of the plaza, and the plaza bosses split into the Tijuana Cartel, Juárez Cartel, and Sinaloa Cartel, resulting in the inevitable. It doesn’t end there either, as Felix gets jailed shortly thereafter. Walt Breslin is reassigned and confronts Felix in prison, which is a silver lining.
The story’s future appears bleak, as there will undoubtedly be more gang violence and murders in the near future. In the meantime, we know from the pages of the news that Felix will continue to function from behind prison bars for some time before being transferred to another maximum-security jail with a harsh term. Corrupt police officers will eventually cause a massive political scandal. Initial episodes of Narcos should feature some vanity and dark humor.
Season 3 will delve deeper into the history of El Chapo’s drug business, which will grow to be one of the world’s largest. Arellano Felix’s brothers have ordered the police to capture Isabella Bautista. A key part in the following season is therefore quite likely for her. As the Plaza leaders’ need for money grows, there will be a few more bullets fired. It won’t take long for the globe to go up in flames in the third season.
